Belong

Robin Crowe

cast adrift like a

piece of driftwood on a never ending tide.

in and out, out and in,

i’m still breathing -

just.

a glittering canopy of stars

above my watery bed,

i reach out and my fingers brush

the sky.

it’s like i’m coming home.

i belong to the gravity-less, glittering

galaxy.

not to this weighted earth,

where every step forward seems like

a fall down.

i’m cast adrift,

but in the stars i am home.

in the sea i can pretend i belong.

Robin Crowe is a 15 year old poet from the United Kingdom.
